Whoah,

Man guys I thought I was slacking last year?! I haven't posted in almost a year. Bode you're 16 months in five days and Tyden you will be three in less than two months! Life is busy and fun. You two make each other laugh a lot. Bode you put up with a lot of wrestling from T. You have crawled like a champ for a long time now. You have gotten really fast! You never belly or army crawled. Always all up on hands and knees. If you get away on a surface that's cold or scratchy and your knees are exposed you will go up on feet and hands. It's funny! You stand if holding a support but not on your own and you haven't attempted to walk. You're not even that into it when we hold onto you and encourage walking. In time...in your time. You get so happy when dad is around. You wave bye to people. You give great kisses, puckering up and holding it. You say thanks when we give you things you are wanting. You say dada and nanny a lot and I think I am hearing you say Tyden. Sounds a lot like dada but with a twist. You call me mama some. You call all dogs Ace. Meems has been out of town a lot and when she's around you want her to hold you a lot. We went to TX last week and got some great quality time with the Greene and McKinney crew. Papa took you home a couple nights and got you to bed. You sleep well now. It hasn't always been that way. You eat better than ever and I think that helps. You sleep about 12 hours a night and nap twice a day. You suck your thumb and relax easily.
Tyden you're a snuggler. You happily give me a kiss whenever I ask with a smile.  My back hurt the other day and you rubbed it telling me it was all better. Thanks for wanting to help and take the pain away. You love riding your bike and you're fast. You and dad ride the dirt hills around here and you love the adventure. You are testy. You get in moods to see what you can get away with. Sometimes squealing with joy as you run the opposite direction I ask you to. Makes me so nervous when it's not safe. You enjoy your friends and flexing your muscles to show us how strong you are. You are a great story teller and re-enact people, sometimes animals and often yourself.
The days and weeks cruise by. I love you two so much!

Auntie Kim's Purple

It has been too long huh boys?!  Auntie Kim is hosting COLOR WEEK so I thought I should use that as a spring board (or at least an attempt) to blog more often.  So today is PURPLE.
While blogging though let's talk about you two.  You are great boys.  Tyden is turning two on Wednesday! Amazing.  Bode is soon to be six months!  Woah...
Tyden you are a pleasure.  A lot of fun.  Full of zeal.  You know what you want and enjoy having fun.  Right now you are playing in the yard with Sobe and her chuck it.  Laughing hard at her.  You have started talking and answering our questions when they are yes and no answers.  That has been fun for dad and I to see you really do know what we are saying.  You say "beet beet" for beep beep and "colk" for cold.  You know the names of those who love you including grandparents and say them often.  You call Nicolai, "Kyai".  I LOVE YOU.
Bode you are a joy.  A very laid back little guy, content to watch the action around you, laugh at your brother and snuggle down sucking your thumb.  You enjoy your tummy time and do many push ups and rolls from back to tummy.  You squeal and blow raspberries a lot.  Dad and I say you sleep like a teenager because you now roll onto your tummy or side and rest your head on one arm.  Somehow looking much older than you are in the positions you choose.  Your face lights up when you flash your great smile and makes all who see it smile right back.  I LOVE YOU.

two boys!

Tyden and Bode! I'm so slow at this blogging. You are now 20 1/2 and 2 1/2 months old! I am enjoying you two so much. Time is for sure flying.  Tyden you are most often gentle with Bode. You love to hold him and hug him and give him kisses. There is of course the occasional hit and eye poke but mostly you are gentle. You seem to want to get so close sometimes when laying next to Bode that you will try to roll him over.  Keeping me on guard. Bode you often hear Tyden's voice or see him and smile.  I love you two together.  I'm so proud of you each and so thankful to be your mom.

thoughts

T buddy!  You are now 17 months old and your brother is due in a month.  As I spend my days with you I am so thankful for your smiles and kisses and health.  You are a loving little boy with a curiosity for the things around you and your boundaries.  You are testing what you are allowed to do these days.  It can wear me out but I know it is all part of you becoming independent and is all part of being a kid.  I love your spirit.  I'm excited to see you become a big brother.  You are learning to be gentle with your cousin Nicolai and your friend Gavin.  You absolutely love throwing and you are good at it.  We are working on just throwing balls, not hard toys, especially with the babies around.
You are teaching me how to be a better communicator. To be clear and to say what I mean.  You are teaching me the power of a smile, the warmth of a hug and the love of a mom I could never explain.  It's crazy to think we will soon have your little brother to share our days with and love as well.  I'm looking so forward to him and at the same time wondering how it'll change my time with you.  All part of being a family and transitioning and growing our love.   It will be fun to watch you two grow together, learn to share, enjoy playing and become buddies.  I know there will be fights in there as well.  Some that will make me secretly chuckle and some that will make me secretly cry.

You are one year old.

Your birthday was great Tyden.  We had a family party for you on Saturday and then celebrated more on Tuesday.  You got your own little ice cream sundae and loved it.  Singing happy birthday on Saturday I got unexpectedly choked up a bit.  Sad I guess but also happy for you and the joy you bring those around you.  You are wonderful.
Stats:
Six teeth: four top/two bottom
You love to eat.  Nectarines, tomatoes, plain yogurt, bananas and cheese are some of your favorites.
You are crawling on one knee and one foot, or on your belly when you really want to go quickly.
You stand up and walk around furniture but not on your own yet.
You make goofy faces,funny head bobs and blinks that make us laugh.
You regularly say mama and dada but we don't know if it's about us.
When you hear dogs barking you make a high pitched quiet little barking sound.
You are busy and like to be active, throwing balls and rings (sometimes behind you).
We are trying to teach you to be gentle with your cousin Nicolai.
You loved playing with your cousins Jaley, Cob and Josh.
Still napping twice a day and usually sleeping 9-11 hours at night.

Hey Tyden-bud!   Lately you have been such a funny boy.  Cracking me up daily.  Last night you were making Dad, Nanny, Papa and me all laugh at dinner.  You do this funny thing with your head and your eyes like you are looking at us, then away, then back really quickly.  We will get a video of it soon and I will post it.  You are a joy my little boy!  In the meantime this little video of you and your new little Nicolai-cuz has brought joy to many people.
